WINNING WITHOUT INTIMIDATION

I have been pondering long and hard about the issues surrounding the catastrophic events of the 11th. I realise that there is nothing that we can do to reverse the tragedy, but have often wondered about what we can do to help stop a similar event in the future. Many many argue that there is nothing that we can do to guarantee that this sort of thing never repeats itself, and I will not dispute that. In the end, there will always be somebody who will be motivated to do whatever they want to (afterall, if you go to California today, you'll still be able to fill a hall with people who belong to the Flat Earth Society). :-)
So, the more I think about it, the clearer my thoughts become. If we can't change the world, can we change one person at a time and start to break the cycles?
As part of our business, we work very closely with an organisation called Network 21. Led by an awesome couple called Jim & Nancy Dornan in the USA, Network 21 is one of the worlds leading Leadership and Personal Development support systems. Through my personal mentorship with Simon & Yvonne Godfrey (the heads of Network 21 here in New Zealand), I have been fortunate enough to have access to a multitude of leadership and personal development material.
Over the last three years, I have been priviledged to witness world-class speakers such as Dr. John C. Maxwell (21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership), Pat Mesiti, Allan Pease (the Body Languauge man) and Skip Ross - to name but a few. Indeed, I look forward to hearing Dr. Ron Jensen speak to us in Wollongong, NSW, Australia in early November.
But there is one other speaker that I have been introduced to via Network 21 that I would like to draw your attention to... Bob Burg.
Bob is a motivational speaker and author. He has put together a whole e-zine dedicated to the art of WINNING WITHOUT INTIMIDATION. In fact, the WINNING WITHOUT INTIMIDATION Mission Statement is as follows: To raise the consciousness level of the world in the arena of human interactions. To show people how to get what they want while helping others to feel good about themselves. In fact, you can get access to Bob's website at http://www.burg.com/f-winning.html.
My comments to who-so-ever wants to read this is that if we can change this world one person at a time, maybe each person that we change can also change one or two others. Together, we can start to multiply the changes around us, so that, hopefully, the future generations that we leave this planet to can live in a world that is living the values of WINNING WITHOUT INTIMIDATION?
Take care,
E :-)
